About Me
Professional
Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in cloud platforms, DevOps automation, and virtualization technologies. Experienced in designing and implementing AWS multi-account architectures, Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, and container orchestration solutions. Skilled at migrating legacy workflows to modern CI/CD pipelines, optimizing DNS and networking configurations, and evaluating architectural trade-offs for scalability and maintainability. Practical AI experience earned hands-on: self-hosting LLM inference with GPU passthrough, integrating local models into real services, and building AI features for small data workloads.
My Thoughts on AI
AI has fundamentally changed how I build. It accelerates the tedious parts — boilerplate, config wrangling, documentation digging — so I can spend my time on architecture and the problems that actually need a human. I believe the people who get the most out of AI are the ones who understand the systems underneath it, and that's the gap I like to work in.
AI & Homelab
Most of my AI experience comes from doing, not just reading. In my homelab I run GPU-accelerated Ollama and vLLM servers for local LLM inference, and this site itself ships an in-browser WebGPU model that tailors my resume to a job description. A few examples:
- Self-Hosted LXC Ollama Container — local AI inference with GPU passthrough, serving Llama, Mistral, and CodeLlama over an API.
- This website — Astro + React with a client-side WebLLM for AI-powered resume tailoring, no backend required.
Current Workflow & Tools
The stack I reach for day to day, at work and in the lab:
- AI Agents: Claude Code and a crew of local agents for development, research, and automation
- Local Inference: Ollama and vLLM with GPU passthrough for self-hosted LLM workloads
- Infrastructure: Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD for declarative, reproducible deployments
- Homelab: Proxmox virtualization running LXC containers and self-hosted services
- Containers: Docker and docker-compose for local development and preview environments
- Web: Astro, React, and TypeScript — this site is built with all three
Who I Am
Originally from Kentucky, I've since made my way through New Jersey and now call California home. Outside of work, I run a homelab environment where I tinker with Proxmox virtualization, self-hosted services, and AI/ML workloads. I also enjoy 3D printing and taught myself CAD along the way. Whether it's optimizing infrastructure at scale or wiring up PoE cameras at home, I bring the same curiosity and systematic approach to every project.
Professional Media I Follow
Staying sharp means a steady diet of good sources. Here's what I keep up with:
AI
Software Development
DevOps & Homelab
Security
Hobbies & Extras
When I'm not working, I'm usually still at a keyboard or a workbench:
- Gaming: longtime gamer — it’s also half the reason the homelab has a GPU
- 3D Printing: self-taught CAD, designing and printing functional parts
- Computer Building: building and tuning PCs, from budget builds to the lab servers
- Homelabbing: obviously — Proxmox, self-hosted services, and way too many containers
- Drone Flying: flying drones and tinkering with everything that keeps them in the air
- Microcontrollers: software and hardware design on embedded boards
